“AestheticaBot_ofGetElapsedTime” is a framed canvas with an embedded interactive installation. The audience will both unconsciously and deliberately interact with the illuminating 3D-printed sculptures. I designed and 3d-printed two sculptures in forms of an imaginary mother figure and put them on the canvas. The flashing light underneath the transparent sculptures will flash if there are audiences walking or standing in front of the painting. The closer the distance, the faster the light flashes. Using this interactive effect, the imaginary feminine energy will emit into the space between the observer and the painting, to get the time that elapsed.
I continued with my former painting style influenced deeply by Chinese landscape painting. By using a lot of soft feminine geometry and simple red and yellow colour combination to reflect the colour of the LED light underneath the sculptures. When audiences get really close to the canvas, the lights will flash so fast which causes mesmerising optical effects on the canvas.
